CHILDREN (MINORS)

When a minor under the age of 18 attempts to register with us, we ask a parent or guardian to provide parental consent and permission to create an account with us. We do not communicate, in person, by email or by phone, with anyone under the age of 18 about special offers or for marketing purposes without parental permission. We do not ask anyone for more personal information as a condition of participation than is reasonably necessary to participate in a particular activity or promotion.

What personal data do we collect and why do we collect it?

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data displayed in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to aid spam detection.

An anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the web, you should avoid uploading images with location data (GPS EXIF) included. Website visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we keep your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so that we can automatically recognize and approve subsequent comments, instead of keeping them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Web administrators can also view and edit that information.

We do not provide any personal information to the advertiser when you interact with or view a targeted advertisement. However, by interacting with or viewing an ad, you agree that the advertiser may assume that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the ad.
